follow TMZ, Shannon was admitted to the hospital on Monday, September 19, after she visited her doctor for a routine checkup. According to the publication, the 43-year-old woman had complained that she had recently suffered from severe headaches and dizziness.
That information was enough to cause his doctor to be concerned enough to have him admitted to the hospital. Since then, he has undergone several tests and scans to find the cause of the symptoms. However, it looks like they’ve all been proven futile, as Mama June told the publication that there’s still no indication of the underlying issue.
For now, all signs point to the possibility that Mama June will remain in the hospital until the cause is identified. The “Mama June: Road to Redemption” star didn’t reveal how long this could take but shared that her husband, Justin Stroud, who she secretly wed in a court wedding in March, has been supportive throughout.
Mama June’s Past Drug Use
Mama June went on to share that the lack of diagnosis is still puzzling. The reality star went on to say that she has not relapsed to counter any speculation that she may have returned to using drugs.
He previously struggled with drug addiction but has been clean for over two years since he first entered rehab.
Per Page Six, the reality star’s drug addiction has taken its toll on her finances, reportedly to the tune of nearly a million dollars. “I would say the last year of our addiction, maybe a good $900,000,” the TLC star said at the time. “So much money has been sent to our drug men.”
Although it seems certain that any current drug use did not drive his current health problems, it is not clear whether it can be linked in any way to his past use.

Aside from her previous drug use, Mama June had to deal with other health challenges, especially medical issues due to being overweight. She and her ex-boyfriend Geno Doak underwent weight loss surgery a few years ago to lose significant weight. The surgery helped him lose nearly 300 pounds, but he ended up gaining a lot back.
Per TMZ, daughter of Summer Alana, better known as Honey Boo from her reality series, “Mama June: Road to Redemption,” is also considering weight loss surgery in July. At the time, there was speculation that he weighed 275 pounds and wanted to get down to 150.
Although there is no confirmation whether the surgery failed, Alana had her mother’s support when she made the decision. However, Summer shared at the time that she would have preferred if Alana had waited until she was 18.
Mama June Apologizes To Her Daughter

Mama June and her daughter have struggled to get along since the reality star was arrested for possession of a controlled substance for cocaine and drug paraphernalia.
But since getting clean and getting her life back on track, Mama June has been trying to make amends with the teenager. The reality star sent a heartfelt message to her daughter to celebrate her 17th birthday.
“Happy Birthday.[i] hope you have a good day,” he wrote in a text per TMZ. “I am very proud [you] with everything … finishing high school, which [is] big problem. I know I have put [you] through a lot, and I’m sorry,”
Mama June goes on to state that she will do whatever it takes to overcome any differences they may have. “I know I’m not perfect at all, but I try my best,” he added. “I know there is a LOT to work on and go through, but I am confident of that [we] desire.”
