The English football club announced the news in a statement shared on their website.
“Cristiano Ronaldo will leave Manchester United by mutual consent, effective immediately,” the club’s official website said. “The club thanks him for his huge contribution in two seasons at Old Trafford, scoring 145 goals in 346 appearances, and wishes him and his family well for the future. Everyone at Manchester United remains focused on continuing the team’s progress under Erik ten Hag and working together to deliver success on the pitch.”

The “breakup” comes a week after Ronaldo gave an exclusive interview to Piers Morgan and said he felt “betrayed” by Man U.
He also said he had no respect for the club’s head coach, Erik ten Hag.
The Ten Hag suspended Ronaldo in October for refusing to come on as a substitute during Manchester United’s 2-0 win over Tottenham.
“I don’t respect him [Ten Hag] because he didn’t show me respect,” said Ronaldo in excerpts taken from an interview with Piers Morgan. “If you don’t respect me, I won’t respect you.”
