Mandy Moore is thankful for her pet cats, because their parenting prepared her and Taylor Goldsmith for parenthood.
The “This is Us” star and the “Dawes” singer began their romance in 2015, and by November 2018, they were walking down the aisle. After that, the two expanded their family with two adorable children. In a recent interview, the doting mother of two admitted that she and her beau picked up some helpful parenting tips before they welcomed their two sons — thanks to their cat!

The “A Walk To Remember” actor recently chatted with him PEOPLE magazine and discussed how she and her husband had the privilege of starting parenthood by raising their cat.
“We have three rescue cats now who are our OG babies, our OG babies before human babies came into the picture. So they are a very important part of our life. Very, very important,” shared the 39-year-old singer.

Backing up her point, Moore added that her fur “really prepared” her and Goldsmith for the parenting lifestyle and made them more responsible and selfless. The star further explained that cats’ unique natures really prepare them for the challenges of parenthood.
“I love that you go on tour, and it’s not immediately like, ‘Oh my gosh, you’re back!’ It was like, ‘Hey, yeah, I’ll come when [I’m] ready.’ I was like, ‘Cool, cool, cool. I’ll give you space.’ But when they choose you, when you become their person, it’s not a greater feeling in the world,” he explained.
The “Love, Marriage, Marriage” cast included that the cats taught them “a lot about patience and responsibility and how to earn someone’s trust and love.”
Prior to this exclusive interview, the publication in February provided interesting details about Moore’s son. Starting with two-year-old August, whose name was carefully chosen by his parents.
The “In Real Life” singer explained, “Last August when @taylordawesgoldsmith and I found out we were having a boy (it was also Taylor’s birth month), and we’ve always loved the name … so it was decided early on. book.”

As the “Midway” actress marks her 39th birthday, her man took to Instagram to express his love and admiration for her with a heartfelt birthday message. The 37-year-old posted a three-slide upload featuring himself, his wife, and their two children.
The first look sees Moore sitting on a carpeted floor holding Oscar in her lap. August stood next to them. In the following slide, the couple is lying together on a long sofa with their children on them. Instead, the last image captures Oscar between his parents. All of them smiled happily at the camera.
