Manikandan Thonnakkal was a teacher who had a deep interest in literature, agriculture, and epics. He also worked as a manager at Sree Gokulam Medical Centre, Attingal. He also runs a YouTube channel called Maniyan Speaking, which has over 10 thousand subscribers. He uses his channel as a medium to create content on language, literature, mythology and humorous topics. Reportedly, he has also acted in more than 25 Malayalam serials. The idea of ’Maniyan Speaking’ hit him during the Covid-19 pandemic when all educational institutions were closed and actors’ houses were closed. In 2022, he entered Bigg Boss Season 4 (Malayalam) as the show’s first wild-card contestant on day 20.
