Manjari Joshi was born on Saturday, 19 March 1960 (age 63 years; in 2023) in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, India. He completed his schooling at Sardar Patel Vidyalaya, New Delhi, in 1974. He pursued his studies in Bachelor of Science in Chemistry (Hons) at Miranda College, University of Delhi. He pursued a Master of Arts in Russian language and literature at Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi. He was associated with Doordarshan in the 1980s.

Manjari Joshi is the eldest daughter of Sahitya Akademi Award winner Raghuvir Sahay, a poet and journalist. His father was a famous Hindi poet and short story writer. His mother’s name is Bimleshwari Sahay. He has an elder brother, Dharmesh Sahay, who is a senior video editor at Aaj Tak news channel, and two younger sisters, namely Varsha Sahay Srivastava, and Hema Singh.

Manjari Joshi started her career as a Hindi news anchor on Doordarshan and worked for 25 years. He worked in All India Radio for many years.
Translator
Manjari Joshi has translated many Russian language books into English and Hindi. Many publishing houses including Sahitya Akademi and National Book Trust have published his translated works. The translation of “Abai Kunanbev Chanyanika” was published by Sahitya Akademi, New Delhi, in 1995.
Writer
He has written many books including “Bharatiya Sangeet ki Parampar,” published by National Book Trust, New Delhi. She has also co-authored many books with her husband, Hemant Joshi, such as Writing for Media, Fundamentals of Journalism and Mass Communication, and Communication for Development, published under Vikas Publishing House, New Delhi, in 2011.
