Mariah Carey Has Reportedly Scrapped Plan To Gain Primary Custody Of Her Twins

Mariah Carey has reportedly decided not to sue ex-husband Nick Cannon for primary custody of their children. The singer asked the comedian to spend more time with their twins, as he is now a father of 12.

Despite their current joint custody agreement, Carey had planned to file for full custody of their twins earlier this year.

Mariah Carey has ended her plans to sue ex-husband Nick Cannon for primary custody of their twins, Moroccan and Monroe. A source close to Carey recently revealed RadarOnline that the “We Belong Together” singer changed her mind about getting primary custody.

According to a report by the news outlet earlier this year, a source close to the award-winning vocalist claimed he had threatened Cannon with a full custody petition. The legal battle will confound the former couple’s joint custody arrangement, which they agreed to during their 2014 divorce.

At the time, a source said, “The reality of the situation is that Monroe and Morocco are often with Mariah. But she wanted to tell him that she couldn’t just walk in and out of their lives while she took care of her other children. And she wants the legal position as the primary caregiver of the twins.”

Carey previously asked Cannon to “carve out” more time for their children because she knows she has her hands full with her other children. Inside sources claim he explained to Cannon that Morocco and Monroe should meet him and spend time with him.

A source close to Cannon said the host of “The Masked Singer” thinks “it’s wonderful to have all these kids” and is ready to compete with all of his children. He has previously filmed and shared TikToks of his time with Monroe and Morocco, showing them learning viral dances and trying out different trends.

In one TikTok video, Cannon, Monroe, and Moroccan dance to a fast-paced version of Chris Brown’s “Run It,” which she struggles to keep up with. The child wrote on the video, “Daddy never follows TikToks,” while Cannon captioned the video, “Making this so messy!”

One source claims RadarOnline that Carey’s boyfriend and backup dancer, Bryan Tanaka, was the brains behind the major care measure. They said, “Bryan wants her to get full custody so she can get some space from Nick. But he hasn’t pulled the trigger yet, and Bryan must be disappointed.”

Another source shared that Tanaka was furious that Carey chose not to file, but the “Obsessed” singer “didn’t seem to care.” They explained that the 39-year-old was “tired of feeling like second best” to Cannon and thought he and Carey still had unfinished business.

The source said, “It’s been the elephant in the room for years now and the main reason he’s not engaged or having kids with Mariah himself.” “Mariah and Nick always talk on the phone, and they become friendly whenever he comes into town to see the kids. Mariah doesn’t like Bryan being around when Nick is around, which causes her paranoia.”

In December of last year, Cannon welcomed another child, a baby girl, with Alyssa Scott, making him the father of 12 children with six different women over 11 years.

Cannon first had Morocco and Monroe with Carey in 2011, then had several children with other women after that. He has children with Brittany Bell, Bre Tiesi, Abby De La Rosa and LaNisha Cole. She and Scott previously had a son, Zen, the 7th, but the baby boy died at five months old.

Shortly after Zen’s tragic death from brain cancer, Scott made an emotional Instagram tribute to his baby boy. In the post, she wrote, “It’s a painful reminder that you’re no longer here… It’s been an honor and a privilege to be your mother. I will love you forever.”

After giving birth to her 12th child, Cannon has made it clear that there is still a chance she can have more children because only “God” can decide when she should stop having children.
