“It’s almost time…” Carey wrote alongside a photo of her iconic red dress sprawled out on the tile with the bathtub ladder looking beautiful in the bathroom. The room was brightly lit, with yellow lights bouncing off the tiles while a bouquet of flowers sat in a vase by the bathtub. There was also a box of flowers at the mouth of the tub, skillfully arranged to form the MC of the singers.’
In the following sequence, captioned “but….” Carey shared a video of herself leaning against the camera and in a bubble bath. The magnificent room is brightly lit with painted windows, further accentuating the classy decorative details. As the 53-year-old sat in the bathtub, a song played, which he signaled to stop by moving his finger, after which a clicking sound was heard.
A closing video captioned “yet” follows a sequence where she is still in the bathtub but facing the camera and smiling. Bubbles of bath foam also covered his chest, almost touching his chin and blond hair. A child’s voice is heard saying, “We want to hear “All I Want,” possibly referring to Carey’s chart-topping hit “All I Want for Christmas Is You.”
The singer-songwriter replied in a singsong voice, “Not yet.” He also smiled before blowing his bubble bath towards the screen. The little boy didn’t give up but kept asking, “Well, can we at least decorate the tree?” Carey gave the same “Not yet” response but in a more restrained voice. He continued to smile but then turned away from the camera as the child wondered aloud, “Why not?” sounds discouraged.
It may not be time for Christmas yet, but record producers are always on the move for the season, including customizing the name of the Christmas Queen. The Blast reported that not many were swayed by the trademark idea, including fellow Holiday vocalists Darlene Love and Elizabeth Chan, who expressed their displeasure.
Fans will recall that Carey earned the unofficial title last year as the Queen of Christmas, given the notable success of her single “All I Want for Christmas Is You.” In March 2022, there were reports of him applying to have the name officially, which was later announced in July.
A month after the application was announced, Love and Chan slammed Carey for trying to exploit the holiday, with Chan filing an official declaration against the “Fantasy” singer’s trademark.
In an interview with Variety Magazine, the “Ghost of Christmas Past” singer insisted that Carey’s trademark show was not the right thing to do because this season is for everyone and not meant to be owned. Instead, Love calls herself the actual Queen of Christmas, since she was named so a year before Carey released her Christmas song.

The Blast reports that Stone, a singer and lead singer of Vince Vance & the Valiants, filed a copyright infringement lawsuit in New Orleans federal court, seeking a minimum of $20 million in damages.
The lawsuit accuses Carey, Sony Corporation of America, Sony Music Entertainment, and co-writer Walter Afanasieff of taking advantage of Stone’s “popularity and unique style.”
He also claimed that his version was more or less popular and received “extensive airplay” during the 1993 Christmas season, causing it to begin “making appearances on the Billboard Music Charts.”
The singer went on to reveal that he tried to reach an understanding with the “Butterfly” singer and his co-defendant in April 2020, but that didn’t work out.
