I really loved this opportunity – everyone in the creative team, the writers, the crew and of course, the ensemble made magic happen. Lucky me ❤️ https://t.co/BLMywUtsvr

Earlier this month, Ana Gasteyer responded to the show’s cancellation by retweeting the news from Deadline that the show had been canceled. “NBC has chosen not to pursue a third season of its workplace comedy series #AmericanAuto, created and executive produced by Superstore creator Justin Spitzer,” they tweeted.
“I really loved this opportunity – everyone on the creative team, the writers, the crew, and of course, the ensemble created magic. Lucky me,” he tweeted with a red heart emoji. Fans immediately expressed support for the canceled show, including “Star Wars” actor Mark Hamill.
TERRIBLE news! One of my favorite comedies in years is smart, well written & expertly performed by a brilliant ensemble cast. Oh- one more thing: it’s always SO FUNNY. Fingers crossed it will be picked up elsewhere like Brooklyn 99 & Taxi.#EverythingILlikeGetsCancelled ? https://t.co/lpeoVcnBop

“Me too! It’s a great comedy – reminds me of Seinfeld, 30 Rock, Arrested Development and Parks & Recreation. Huge potential for years of fun!!!!” commented one fan. “Thank you for your support of this great show!” another follower wrote as other fans voiced their agreement.
The petition currently has 670 signatures, which is just short of their goal of 1,000 signatures. Fans quickly listed their reasons for signing the change.org petition comments, and Mark Hamill was actually listed as the reason at least one fan signed.

While fans are upset that “American Auto” has been canceled by NBC, fans of Justin Spitzer can breathe a sigh of relief. He will return with a new medical series called “St. Denis Medical” which is expected to debut next season.
The first two seasons of “American Auto” are still available to stream on Peacock.
