Actor Mark Hamill isn’t set to return to the galaxy far, far away anytime soon.
Many fans were disappointed with how little Luke Skywalker was featured in the “Star Wars” sequel trilogy, which includes 2015’s “The Force Awakens,” 2017’s “The Last Jedi” and 2019’s “The Rise of Skywalker.”
While there’s always the possibility that the actor could return to the galaxy far, far away once again as a Force ghost, the 71-year-old actor seems to doubt that’s the case.

In a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter to promote his new film “The Machine,” Mark Hamill also discussed his future with the “Star Wars” franchise.
“When I read [Episode] VIII, I knew it was over,” Hamill said. “So I’m enjoying every moment, but also saying goodbye to everyone I’ve been with over the years. So I still miss them.”
Daisy Ridley who starred in “The Last Jedi” will reprise her role as Rey for another film fifteen years after the events of “The Rise of Skywalker.” The new film plans to focus on Rey rebuilding the Jedi Order fifteen years after the fall of the First Order.
While this would be the perfect opportunity to introduce Mark Hamill as the Force ghost, he told the publication, “No, I don’t expect that to happen.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Mark Hamill said that he likes to take on roles “that are completely unexpected, like playing Crow in Sushi female (2012). It’s a low-budget gangster movie that people rarely see, but there’s always something you appreciate in what you do.”
“I tried to start clean and not recognize anything I had done before. I approach every project like it’s the first job I’ve ever had,” he continued before being asked about his role in the new Stephen King short story “The Life of Chuck.”
“The Life of Chuck” is a short story from the 2020 Stephen King anthology “If It Bleeds.” It tells the story of Charles Krantz’s life in reverse, starting with his death from a brain tumor at the age of 39 and ending with his childhood in a suspected haunted house.

Actor Tom Hiddleston will also star in the project, which will be directed by frequent King collaborator Mike Flanagan. Flanagan and Hamill previously worked together on Netflix’s “The Fall of the House of Usher.”
“Mike kind of has a repertory group of actors that he uses over and over again. I didn’t think it would happen so quickly, but I adore the guy and he’s so talented,” Hamill told the publication. “When he wanted me back, I was like, ‘Enough tell me where and when and I’ll be there.’”

On May 4, 2023, “Star Wars” star Carrie Fisher was finally awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Both the daughters of Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher, actress Billie Lourd, were present at the event. They each gave emotional speeches in honor of the late Princess Leia.
When asked why it took so long for the late actress, who died in December 2016, to receive her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, Mark replied, “Yes. I don’t know their rules and how they judge things, but it would be nice if it happened while he was still with us, he explained.

“But I’m glad they at least came, even though, as you say, it was a very long time coming,” he added. During her emotional speech, she said that the “Shampoo” actor blew away every expectation she had of him during their first meeting.
“Carrie is the one that belongs to all of us, whether we like it or not. She’s our Princess,” he said, calling her “determined and tough but with a vulnerability that makes you want to see her succeed and be happy.” While he admitted that she could be “a handful,” he said that everything would be “less interesting” if she “not a friend like him.”
