Mark Hamill Wonders If He’s Losing Followers Due To New Twitter Owner Elon Musk

There are plenty of good reasons to follow “Star Wars” alum Mark Hamill on Twitter.

Apart from the dad jokes, words and behind the scenes information he gives, he is also known to post some cute animal videos as well.

However, in the past few days, “The Fall of the House of Usher” actor revealed that he has lost over 6,000 Twitter followers and openly wondered if it was all because of Twitter’s new owner, Elon Musk.

In April, Tesla CEO Elon Musk agreed to buy Twitter for $54.20 per share. The $44 billion dollar deal has been delayed several times over the past few months, with the 51-year-old billionaire expressing concerns about the number of bot and spam accounts on the platform. However, after Twitter filed a lawsuit to force him to abide by their agreement through legal means, Musk suddenly changed his mind and said that he would continue with the agreement just days before he was to be ousted.

Musk had to complete the deal by Friday, October 28 at 5 p.m., or a new trial date would be scheduled in Delaware Chancery Court next month. It looks like he got through the deal with time to spare, but not everyone is happy that Musk is the new owner of Twitter. Chief Executive Parag Agrawal, Chief Financial Officer Ned Segal, and Vijaya Gadde, Twitter’s head of legal policy, were all fired when Musk took control of the company.

However, the three executives are not the only ones leaving Twitter. Many left the platform and closed their accounts, worried about the changes Musk might make to the social media platform.

Is ‘Star Wars’ Alum Mark Hamill Losing Twitter Followers Because of Elon Musk’s New ‘Chief Twit’?

So, I have lost almost 6000 followers in the last three days. Is it because the new twit owner… or just not posting enough cute animal videos lately? 🐷 🤔 https://t.co/28t1nNAiV0

On Friday morning, the 71-year-old actor took to Twitter to reveal that he had lost followers over the past few days. “So, I have lost almost 6000 followers in the last three days. Is it because of the new twit owner… or not posting enough cute animal videos lately?” she tweeted, sharing a video of a piglet being groomed with a brush.

It’s possible that users closed their accounts before Musk took control of the company. Musk may also “clean house” and try to get rid of some bot and spam accounts on the platform before he takes control of the company.

Most fans seem to believe that the sudden drop in followers is due to the reduced number of bots and spam accounts on the site. “It’s because they’re not real accounts, Mark,” one follower comment.

“It is likely due to not being deleted. That happens sometimes,” another fan explore. “I lost a few weeks ago but am now gaining followers at an increased rate than usual. This is the strange and mysterious way of the digital world.”

Although no one believed that the drastic decrease in Mark Hamill’s followers was the result of a lack of cute animal videos, fans immediately rushed to give them all the same. “I believe it is because of the lack of pigs. Do you see this?” asked one fan, sharing a video featuring a piglet wearing a little hat and running on a little pink ball along the street.
