Mark Hunt was born in South Auckland, New Zealand, into a large Samoan family. Mark was a troubled child who served two prison terms for violence. Sam Masters noticed it during an argument outside an Auckland nightclub; what’s amazing about Sam Masters is his ability to put people down because he knocked a lot of people down during that fight. He invited Hunt to his gym for formal training, and a week later, he won a Muay Thai Kickboxing match by knockout, which launched Hunt’s career.
