Stewart, who built her brand on home improvement, cooking and decorating, has always advocated a hands-on approach to many aspects of life. In his latest interview with Shoe News, he voiced his belief that remote work inhibits productivity and creativity, which he considers essential to maintaining a thriving workforce and economy.

According to the publication, he argued that the intangible benefits of working together in a shared physical space cannot be replicated in a remote work environment, ultimately resulting in a decrease in productivity and business growth.

Stewart expressed his belief that France, a country known for its strong labor laws and emphasis on work-life balance, is “not a very developed country” because of its relaxed approach to work.

France, often celebrated for its high quality of life, is known for shorter work weeks, generous holiday policies and an emphasis on leisure. In contrast, the United States is often seen as a hub of innovation and entrepreneurship, known for its robust economy and technological advancements.

“It is not a very prosperous country. Should America go down the drain because people don’t want to go back to work?” he quipped, adding that he was “raging” for people to get back to the office and work in person.
