After Jonathan Majors‘ and Marvel dropping him from future projects as Kang the Conqueror, the studio is reworking their next film chapter.
The next set of films will significantly reduce Kang’s presence but reports claim Marvel was already planning this before Majors was found guilty of assault and harassment.
Since his conviction, more women have accused the actor of assault and harassment. A New York Times reports claim that the actor is known as a “controlling, threatening figure” to women.
Marvel Cut Jonathan Majors After His Conviction

Shortly after Jonathan Majors was convicted of assaulting ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari, Marvel dropped him quickly.
His conviction was on two of four charges, including assault and harassment outside a car with Jabbari. Prosecutors had tried to secure a conviction for his actions in the vehicle, which allegedly seriously injured him.
With all the news surrounding Marvel’s announcement that they are no longer working with Majors, a new report from Hollywood Reporter has revealed the studio is already planning pre-conviction measures.
The initial plan was that Majors would star as Kang the Conqueror, the new supervillain for the next set of Marvel movies. However, after the movie, “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania,” plans changed.
Marvel Studio Reduces Kang’s Character

According to THR reports, the next film in the “Avengers” line is meant to be titled “Kang Dynasty.” However, the film will no longer include Kang’s name and will be significantly rewritten. This will also be the case for the next set of films lined up for this phase.
Marvel reportedly plans to cut Kang’s character entirely or minimize him to a footnote in the overall plot. The interesting part is that Marvel, which operates under Disney, was already planning the move for Kang/Majors before his conviction.
According to a source who spoke to the news outlet, the studio’s motivation for this is money. They were reportedly disappointed with the performance of “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania,” which was one of the first major films to introduce Kang.
Sources claim that the film was not a financial success and also failed to impress the Marvel audience. It earned approximately $476 million worldwide in its theatrical run, which is relatively low among Marvel and superhero movie box office standards. That alone was a problem for the studio, and then Majors’ domestic violence case came up.
More Women Accuse Jonathan Majors of Assault

Since his conviction, several women have also accused Majors of assault and harassment. According to a New York Times reports, several of the actor’s ex-girlfriends, colleagues, and film set workers have shared their negative experiences with Majors.
In a pretrial statement to the prosecution against Majors for the Jabbari case and in an interview with the publication, Emma Duncan, a former girlfriend, accused Majors of emotionally and physically abusing her. Duncan claims the “Creed III” actor choked her, threw her, and injured her multiple times.
She said that dating him was a straight road to losing “your sense of worth.” Another ex-girlfriend, Maura Hooper, also told NYT that Majors had emotionally abused her during their relationship. Both women were actresses who dated Majors before he became famous.
Jonathan Majors Is Allegedly Known For Being ‘Volatile And Controlling’

In the report, Majors was described as a “controlling, threatening figure who isolated” his partners from all their friends and careers.
From interviews with actors and film set workers, it was revealed that Majors was known for his volatility on the set of the HBO series “Lovecraft Country.”
While on set, he allegedly had several confrontations with female colleagues that led to them filing complaints with the network.
Responding to claims made in NYT report, Majors’ attorney, Priya Chauhdry, said, “Mr. Majors is a method actor, respected for his ability to immerse himself in his characters. Many female producers, co-stars and on-set members can attest to his professionalism.”
The former Marvel star was initially set to be sentenced on February 6. However, it has now been postponed to April 6 after his defense team filed a motion to set aside the verdict.
