While facing multiple harassment allegations from a 30-year-old woman, Jonathan Majors received support from fellow Marvel star Anthony Mackie.
On Saturday, March 25, Majors was arrested by New York City police, and the next day, he was arraigned on domestic violence charges related to the arrest.
Since then, the successful actor received negative media attention and lost several gigs. However, while everyone seems to have his back, Captain America certainly doesn’t.

Anthony Mackie, set to play Captain America in the upcoming “Captain America: Brave New World,” spoke about Majors’ case, showing he has nothing but support for the Marvel actor.
Chatting with Reverse about the accused’s future, he urged everyone not to rush to condemn Majors, maintaining, “Everyone is innocent until proven guilty.”
He said, “We are a country built on ‘everyone is innocent until proven guilty.’ That is one of the foundations of this country. Nothing has been proven about this man. nothing. So everyone is innocent until proven guilty.”
He concluded, “That’s all I can say. It’s wild where we are as a society. But as a nation, everyone is innocent until proven guilty.” The “Altered Carbon” star is the first major Marvel character to address the controversial issue, ahead of Majors’ next court date set for Aug. 3.
Mackie’s statement came nearly two months after Majors’ first day in court on assault and harassment charges. He attended the trial virtually at Manhattan Criminal Court in New York City. On Tuesday, May 9, the “Creed III” actor was represented by his defense attorney led by his lawyer Priya Chaudhry who did all the talking except when Majors spoke to confirm that he had agreed to a virtual appearance.
During the trial, prosecutors revealed another complaint from the female victim’s reported account that led the district attorney to slap Majors with a third-degree assault charge, which he had to physically face in court.”
With that, Judge Pauley ordered the “Lovecraft Country” star to appear in person at the next hearing on June 13. Pauley is also set to rule on a motion requested by the defense at a June 13 hearing. Majors has been somewhat tight-lipped about her ongoing situation, but her attorney has never failed to voice her support by maintaining her innocence whenever possible.

Chaudhry did so after the May trial when he called on the DA’s office to pursue a case based on false allegations. He insisted that he and his team had provided “irrefutable evidence” against the alleged victim’s accusations.
The lawyer further declared that the prosecutors are cooperating with the accusers as they failed to admit the truth and revise the charges in the case to fit the woman’s narrative. Chaudhry stated, “But this false case continues to shift the woman’s alleged location and the story changes. This is a witch hunt against Jonathan Majors, fueled by baseless allegations.
He continued, “Rather than dismissing the charges in the face of the woman’s obvious lies, the DA has adjusted the charges to match the woman’s new lies.” The attorney reiterated his client’s innocence in the statement, revealing that they have “more video evidence” to support their view but are “hesitating to share it, in case the DA advises the woman to change her story again.
‘Devotion’ Actor Slams His Female Prosecutor For Alleged Assault
However, Majors isn’t sitting still as her accusers make more claims against her, as she recently slammed him with assault allegations, claiming she was the one who harassed him. The Blast reports that the 33-year-old man brought the court into the matter, since the alleged victim did so earlier. Sources also confirmed that he met with the police last week.

The meeting involved a March 25 arrest and a June 20 Manhattan Criminal Court case he recently fought. Majors also filed a complaint accusing the woman of being “drunk and hysterical.”
Furthermore, she insisted that his assault caused her pain and bleeding, while she claimed it was not the first time he assaulted her. However, the Yale University alumnus admitted that he had physical contact with the woman’s accuser because he had put himself in a “messy situation.”
