A weed the size of a car was spotted racing down a California highway on Tuesday.
A mass of wandering weeds followed the flow of traffic as it rolled through the Simi Valley, video show.
The National Weather Service confirmed that the large clump was created and powered by the Santa Ana Winds, which occur when air from an area of high pressure over the dry desert flows westward toward low pressure off the California coast.
The state’s coast is experiencing moderate Santa Ana Wind this week, with 45 mph gusts expected to hit some areas over the weekend.
“We saw a giant weed like this in Simi Valley yesterday! Anyone else in #SoCal have experience with tumbleweed recently due to #SantaAnaWinds?” Los Angeles division of the NWS write on Twitter.

The video — which has more than 10 million views — attracted social media users who were stunned by the height and density of the tumbleweed.
“That buffalo fell,” wrote one user.
“Looks like Mother Nature is playing tumbleweed basketball!” said another.
Another wrote: “That looks more like haystacks!”
Although the ball of the plant looks very large, tumbleweed has been known to grow up to 6 feet tall without intervention.
