Matilda De Angelis was born on Monday, September 11, 1995 (age 25 years; in 2020), in Bologna, Italy. His zodiac sign is Virgo. He grew up in the suburbs of Bologna, where he attended the Liceo Scientifico Enrico Fermi. In an interview, while sharing his childhood memories, he said,
I grew up in the middle of nowhere. Farms, animals, that sort of thing. You expect that you will be there for the rest of your life. I always wanted something more for myself.”
Since childhood, he was inclined towards music and started playing the guitar at the age of eleven. Eventually, he also learned to play the violin, and then he excelled at the pianoforte. Although she never took a course in acting, she secured herself the lead role in the film Veloce come il vento (2016) when the casting director saw some of her photos on Facebook. Apparently, the casting director wasn’t looking for a famous actress as he was looking for a woman who spoke a dialect from the Emilia-Romagna region in Italy. In an interview, he said,
I didn’t train to be an actor. I never went to acting school. I just started acting in a very strange and unassuming way. So I think I realized that I wanted to be an actor when I saw my first movie come out, and I felt really happy and excited.”
After landing a role in the film Veloce come il vento (2016), he attended a workshop by acting coach, Doris Hicks.

The group consists of Matilda and seven other young musicians from Bologna who embark on a musical journey. When I was sixteen, I joined a band, a famous band in my hometown, Rumba de Bodas, and we traveled around Europe in a yellow van. It was one of the best experiences of my life and I have been with this group for five years.”

Matilda De Angelis made her film debut in 2016 when she played the lead role of Giulia De Martino in the Italian sports drama film ‘Veloce come il vento’ (The Italian Race). In the film, Giulia De Martino is a seventeen-year-old racing car driver who participates in the Italian Race, an illegal and dangerous race, to clear his debts. Matilda received a nomination for David di Donatello (2017), the Italian equivalent of the Oscars, in the Best Actress category for playing the role of Giulia De Martino. The film also features a song titled “Seventeen,” written and sung by Matilda. The song was highly appreciated and went on to receive a nomination for Best Original Song at David di Donatello (2017).
