Matthew William Lapinskas was born on February 27, 1989, in Surrey, England, United Kingdom. He is the son of John and Teresa Lapinskas and is of Canadian and Lithuanian descent. He attended Brooklands College to do a BTEC National Diploma in Performing Arts and became a member of their theater company, where he received much acclaim for his performance in The Opposite of People.

Matt Lapinskas appeared as an understudy in Stephen Surjik’s 2007 film I Want Candy, and in 2011, he was cast as Anthony Moon in the BBC soap opera EastEnders. On 9 May 2012, Daniel Kilkelly of Digital Spy revealed that Lapinskas would be leaving EastEnders and that his character would disappear from the show in the following weeks. In an interview with Inside Soap, Lapinskas said that EastEnders was her first job outside of show business and she learned a lot from the people she worked with.
He was revealed as one of the 12 VIPs who competed in the eighth season of Dancing on Ice in December 2012. He also toured the country as ‘Pharoah’ in Bill Kenwright’s production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. During this period, he met his current love Camilla Rowland.
