The “Interstellar” star shared that her father warned her to always get full consent from her sexual partners and make sure that consent is maintained at all times. He also warned her to monitor when a woman hesitates and what to do during such a situation.

McConaughey shared, per Many people, that her father told her, “If you ever feel that girl hesitate, stop.” When De Cadenet expressed surprise that her father talked to her about consent, McConaughey explained that the conversation went further.

The “The Gentlemen” actor said, “He also said this: ‘You might feel them hesitate and then after you stop, then they say, ‘Oh no, no, come on,’ Don’t. Wait until next time.” McConaughey later said that life had taught him that his father was right.

McConaughey explained that he had been in a sexual situation where he was uncomfortable and said, “Nah nah nah, okay, I’m out. Okay, cool, I’m out.” He shared that sometimes the couple tries to move on, and in such situations, he says, “Trust me you’ll have another day if it’s meant to be.”

The caption read, “This is me in the ER room in 2003. I was 6 weeks pregnant and was bleeding so bad on a flight that I had to be taken off the plane in a wheelchair. I went straight to the hospital, where I was given an ultrasound and told I had an ‘incomplete miscarriage. Treatment for a miscarriage that your body won’t remove is classified as an abortion if there is a heartbeat or a D&C if there isn’t.”

She continued, “I’m so thankful the ER team with me and then boyfriend (now my husband) was able to immediately make a choice that put my safety first without having to consider if the procedure was illegal, and if the Dr. would be prosecuted for keeping me safe.”

His New Podcast About Men

In a press release about his new podcast, De Cadenet explained that he hopes to use the new podcast series to have difficult conversations with important men. He wants to talk about “consent, parenting, race, null culture, Roe v Wade, and toxic masculinity.”

De Cadenet said, “Men have undeniably had a huge cultural reckoning in recent years. Existing concepts of masculinity have been shattered and need to be rebuilt. The male voice is essential in the restructuring of modern masculinity.”

The next episode of the podcast will feature appearances from Mike Tyson, Charlamagne Tha God, Dr. Terry Real, Kal Penn, Nick Viall and Zachary Levi. The premiere episode with McConaughey premiered on September 19.
