Matthew Perry’s shocking death reportedly occurred after playing a popular game and exercising, and no drugs were found at the scene.
According to sources close to the investigation, Perry apparently engaged in a long pickleball game after which he sent his assistant on an errand.
After returning home, the assistant found Perry unresponsive in the jacuzzi and dialed 911. As we said, the first responders who arrived on the scene, claimed no drugs were found in the area.

It was unclear whether the assistant was instructed by the 911 operator to attempt CPR.
As previously reported, first responders arrived at the scene to find the actor in full cardiac arrest. The actor was reportedly found in a jacuzzi at the home, although it’s unclear how he ended up in the water.

In an interview with New York Times in 2022, the “Fools Rush In” actor discussed his long battle with substance abuse. He revealed that his addiction began in his younger years with alcohol before moving on to more complex substances such as Vicodin, OxyContin, and Xanax.
To feed his addiction, the actor admitted to seeing eight doctors at once to get many prescriptions for the same drug. Perry also shared that he “probably spent $9 million or something to get sober.”
However, Perry’s years of substance abuse came to a head in 2018 when he was hospitalized with pneumonia, an exploding colon and other serious health issues. After spending two weeks in a coma and nine months with a colostomy bag, he underwent more than a dozen abdominal surgeries.
Perry wrote her memoir as part of her recovery and said that the emotions “poured out of me — the painful things, the hospital, the rehab, all these things — it poured out of me. It went fast.”

In an interview with Diane Sawyer, Perry opened up about how Jennifer Aniston confronted him about his addiction struggles.
The actor shared that while they were on the set of “Friends” one particular day, Aniston had walked up to him and boldly said, “We know you’ve been drinking,” implying that she and the rest of her co-stars were aware. Perry’s alcoholism at the time.
Perry stated that the confrontation with the actress was “terrifying” but did not explain why she felt that way.
After the confrontation, Aniston continued to reach out to Perry amid her addiction struggles, and according to Perry, this left her indebted to him.

During a talk at the Los Angeles Book Festival last year to promote her memoir, “Friends, Lovers, and Big Awful Things,” Perry emphasized that the purpose of the book is not to blame anyone in particular for the struggles he discusses in the book, including his battle with opioid addiction.
Perry said, “I’ve been in therapy since I was 18 years old. I want to make sure that this is not the kind of book where I blame people for their mistakes. You have to give them credit for the things they do right.”
The actor also said he wants to be remembered “as a man who lived life, loved well, lived well, and helped people. What I came across was a good thing and not a bad thing.”
