Matthew Perry wants nothing to do with a cheating character!
A new report has emerged claiming that Chandler Bing – the late actor’s “Friends” character – was initially set to cheat on his partner Monica Geller [played by Courteney Cox] before he got caught up in a controversial storyline and changed it. That was a good call because fans probably wouldn’t have forgiven the show if Chandler and Monica — one of the most beloved couples on the NBC sitcom, had gone down that road.

Cash revealed that after rehearsing the scene, Matthew Perry went to the writers and insisted they take it out, showing the actor’s clear awareness of how important the pair are to fans. Narrate the incident to TMZAmerican Conservatory Theater alum says:
“We’ve been rehearsing and everything, and the day before we’re filming in front of a live audience. I was told that [Perry] goes to the writer and says the audience will never forgive him for cheating on Monica. He might be right. That would change the course of the show and the character.”
Cash’s interview came just two days after The Blast reported that loved ones, including celebrity friends, had attended his funeral at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, California. Her “Friends” co-stars – Courteney Cox, David Schwimmer, Jennifer Aniston and Lisa Kudrow – were also seen walking to the cemetery in their black outfits.
Although Matt LeBlanc was not seen at Memorial Park with his on-screen friends, he was spotted a few days ago, driving in his car and seemingly trying to avoid the paparazzi. It’s worth noting that the “Episode” star may have been present and just avoided being caught on camera.

As noted by The Blast, a video of the Martini Tower rider in Groningen, Netherlands playing the song made the rounds on social media and immediately attracted fans. One Reddit user’s lengthy response to the sweet moment read:
“It’s beautiful. And it’s crazy how many people seem to be touched by his death. I’m not really surprised because I’m also more touched than I’d like to admit but I don’t remember so many public tributes to another recent celebrity death.”
Sharing that the sound brought back memories, another Reddit user typed, “I was studying abroad in the mid-2000s and whenever I felt homesick, I would turn on the TV and Friends would come on. We’ll go on weekend trips to neighboring countries, and I’ll turn on the TV and Friends will be on.”
Continuing the reflection, they added, “Friends was—and still is—a universal language, and knowing that it means as much to so many as it does to me, both makes this sadder and helps with grief. RIP Matthew.”
On TikTok, one user stated in a comment, “That’s so sweet and sad. Rest In Peace Mathew Perry,” as another declared, “The global reach is incredible. I hope she knows how loved she is,” and a third claimed, “She must be smiling. Even though he didn’t want Friends to be his legacy, the healing through laughter he gave to millions was amazing!!”
