Tragically, Perry’s body was found on Saturday evening, in her jacuzzi. At this time, the cause of death is believed to be drowning.
Matthew Perry Wants To Be Remembered As Someone Who ‘Helped People’

While promoting his 2022 memoir, “Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing,” the 54-year-old actor talked about how he wants to be remembered at any time.
“[I want to be remembered] as a man who lives life, loves well, lives well, and helps people,” he said, adding, “What happened to me was a good thing and not a bad thing.”
And that’s how Perry is remembered. After his death, fans immediately flooded the actor’s social media, thanking him for all the laughs and inspiration he provided over the years.
A fan, who looked up to Perry’s character, Chandler Bing, in the sitcom “Friends,” commented on Perry’s recent post, “REST IN PEACE. By far my favorite actor. I can’t tell you how many times I saw myself with Chandler’s sense of humor. I grew up watching ‘Friends’, and I still watch it to this day. I know every line by heart. I can’t even begin to express how sad I am right now. Heaven now has the funniest people.”
Another fan stated, “Forever grateful for all the joy you bring into my life. Will always remember you and continue to see you every night ❤️.”

It’s not just fans who are talking about Perry’s legacy. Paget Brewster, who portrayed Kathy on “Friends,” released a heartfelt statement to her on-screen love interest, Chandler, played by Perry, after learning of her death.
I’m so sad to hear about Matthew Perry,” she wrote, adding, “He was so good to me on ‘Friends’ and every time I’ve seen him in the decades since.”
The “Friends” actor then asked fans to “please read his book” because “it’s his legacy to help”. He referred to Perry’s 2022 memoir, “Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing”, in which he opened up about his life, his struggles with alcohol and drugs, and also at one point when doctors told him he had a “2% chance to live” .
“He’s not going to rest in peace.. He’s too busy making everyone laugh there,” he concluded.

Morgan Fairchild, who portrayed Chandler Bing’s mother on the sitcom, took to social media, writing:
“I am saddened by the sudden death of my “son”, Matthew Perry. Losing such a brilliant young actor is a shock. My love & condolences to his friends & family, especially his dad, John Bennett Perry, who worked with me at Flamingo Road & Falcon Crest. #RIPMatthew.”
The official social media accounts of ‘Friends’ and Warner Bros. also posted the news, writing: “We are deeply saddened to learn of Matthew Perry’s passing. He is a true gift to all of us. Our hearts go out to his family, loved ones, and all his fans.”
