Cardi B and Offset’s McDonald’s meal is the last meal for a franchise owner who cares about the company’s values.
Cardi B & Offset Are Not Good Examples
Rappers are being looked down upon for collaborating with McD when their music and public missteps don’t reflect what the fast food company stands for. The franchise sees the troubled couple as not supporting the foundation of the golden arch and apparently, it breaks the code!
Franchise owners came together to slam the brand and the recent decisions they made in the name of branding. Some have removed advertisements from their shop windows.
They also refuse to see items that are part of a promotion. They think that Cardi B and Offset are not the picture of family friendly values.
Where Do Complaints Come From?

The majority of complaints came from franchise owners from the Southeast and mid-Atlantic regions. They have created quite a storm about the partnership. They cited McDonald’s Golden Arches Code which reads, “the sharing of music associated with content that includes offensive language in the lyrics.”
Unfortunately for them, the higher ups don’t seem to care. Music collaborations have been the backbone for McDonald’s to connect with their young fans. The popular couple is not the only one who has had the opportunity to collaborate with McDonald’s as Travis Scott and Saweetie have eaten in the past.
McDonald’s At The Cultural Center
The food giant’s US chief marketing executive Tariq Hassan reportedly told sources “Across our marketing, we’re focused on positioning McDonald’s as a cultural center.” They have already practiced it with those we mentioned above and more like BTS and J Balvin.
Franchises are committed to using celebrities to make things happen for them financially. They reportedly spent $7 million on advertising during the Super Bowl to make sure word of the couple’s dish reached all the right people.

Obviously, the people who are at the forefront of culture are the people who will be used in their ads. It’s surprising that they don’t use influencers for their meal ideas or Kardashian, Kim admits to liking junk food.
Franchisees continue to use the code to call out McDonald’s for ignoring their own rules. “Partnerships with celebrities and influencers who have the potential risk of damaging our brand based on statements they make or their stance on certain issues.”
Good Cardi B & Offset
MEGA
The “Up” rapper and Offset haven’t publicly commented on the drama and it’s likely they won’t settle their deal with the brand and as Cardi says in her song unless they bring it to her doorstep, she probably won’t be bothered.
Offset usually follows his wife’s lead so maybe the same scenario there. Advertisements for the couple’s feast are still airing on TV and it is claimed that fans are still running out of food and hoping to grab the bags as souvenirs.
