One member of the media decided to poke fun at the Chiefs quarterback when during the event, he asked “Rihanna came out and said you’re the greatest quarterback ever. Hearing that, how did you feel?”
Mahomes responded with a big smile on his face. “It makes me feel great! He would crush it in half. I have family members that I think are more excited about the halftime show then they are the game and so anything Rihanna says is like gospel so I’m glad she went with me for that honor.”
But that’s when the reporter admitted Rihanna never said that and she was playing pranks on the quarterback. “He didn’t,” said the media person.
Mahomes’ face immediately fell in frustration as he said, “Oh man. You brought me here smiling and grinning,” before adding a laugh.
Fans Feel The Prank Is ‘Cruel’

NFL and Chiefs fans alike took to the comments section of the video to defend Mahomes and express their thoughts on the prank.
“I mean, why do you say that? He’s a pro and answers accordingly,” wrote one fan while another said, “So instead of asking relevant questions, he’s just making up some bs to waste Mahomes time ?.”
One Instagram user jokingly wrote, “Guys probably waited 2 weeks to tell that joke,” regarding members of the media, while another fan said, “Y’all better stop playing bro before he throws 500 yards.”
One Mahomes fan wrote an insightful comment, praising how the Chiefs quarterback handled the prank. “Just a reminder of Mahomes’ humility and humble demeanor,” they said before adding, “The guy answered well and came back with a smart answer on the next question.
