The late rapper, Coolio met his ex-wife Josefa Salinas in 1987. The couple struck up a relationship and began dating shortly thereafter. After 10 years of dating, they tied the knot on May 18, 1996. However, the marriage reportedly only lasted four years. Eventually, they divorced.
However, that did not end their relationship as they shared four children together; three daughters, named, Artisha, Brandi, Jackie, and a son named Artis. In 2008, he made headlines after laying down the ground rules for dating his then-daughters Artisha (20), Brandi (19), and Jackie (15).
With that philosophy, the rapper – who is willing to “do the rest of my life in jail if you mess with my kids” – warns any young man not to expect anything from his daughter. “I tell them don’t come here trying to get anything you can’t get at home. The Gangsta’s Paradise rapper may also share a child with ex-girlfriend Anabella Chatman. In 2010, Anabella’s former love interest took legal action in an attempt to get Coolio to pay child support according to TMZ. The outlet reported that he was more interested in child support than money, however.
She told TMZ that in order to show the state of California that she has investigated and exhausted all available avenues to qualify for Medi-Cal, she needs to petition for child support. Aw, This is it! the rapper was ordered to pay $300 in child support for Christopher Kal El Ivey Bellesi, who was an infant, at the time by a Los Angeles child support agency.
According to the filed documents, Coolio’s monthly salary at the time was only $1,387. The Grammy Award winner faced additional legal troubles with Anabella three years after the incident.
According to TMZ, authorities arrested Coolio, who was arrested in 2013 after allegedly pushing and punching his baby mama to the ground. According to police records obtained by the publication, the famous hip-hop artist fled the scene after the altercation, taking his son and another woman, Melynda Karr, who was also there.
Anabella claims he tried to run away and hit her with her car. When police arrived at the scene, they saw tire marks on his leg.
