Megan Thee Stallion Gets Backed By Women’s Consortium And Powerful Black Women After Drake Drama

A group of powerful black women are rallying behind Megan Thee Stallion in light of the allegations she faces.

In 2020, the American rapper claimed that Tory Lanez, who was his friend, shot him in the leg during an argument. His claims have been scrutinized by the public, with some calling the rapper a liar.

However, the Consortium of Southern Black Girls & Women stands firmly behind the “Body” rapper, and they released an open letter showing support for the rapper.

According to People Magazine, the consortium sent a letter showing their support for the 27-year-old rapper. The letter was signed by more than two dozen representatives, including #MeToo founder Tarana Burke, Planned Parenthood CEO Alexis McGill Johnson, Congresswomen Maxine Waters and Sheila Jackson Lee, and activists Tamika Mallory and Angela Rye.

The statement directed at the rapper began by praising her for her success in such a short time that has made her a source of inspiration to “women all over the world.”

Praising the “Sexy Girl” rapper, the letter read, “You are a special kind of talent and a special kind of person; the place you hold in the hearts of your fans is proof of that.”

The letter also acknowledged that the brilliant artist had to “face many obstacles along the way” to succeed. However, he has come out of it all and continues to focus on himself.

“In the face of success and tragedy, you always held your head up, kept your composure, and pushed forward. However, while so many of us celebrate you for your strength and perseverance, it must be said that you have been treated in a way that is not can be served by young women—no one at all,” she said.

Additionally, the written message denounced the harassment the songwriter received from the public even though he had spoken about what happened. Even so, he didn’t get the support he deserved.

“You don’t deserve any of this, Megan,” it emphasized. “You deserve to be heard, trusted, and most importantly, safe.”The note continues with a general appeal to the public to help and trust victims of domestic violence, especially black women, who the letter says are often “fearful of what will happen to their attackers if they choose to involve the law … and left unprotected by the system and society.”

It also praised Megan for being strong and working with the consortium on their debut Joy Is Our Journey tour despite going through tough times.

In the closing part, a strong declaration showing encouragement for the artist was written. It read, “We are raising our voices against those who have taken this example of violence against women lightly and will drown them out with our demands that society take seriously what happens to black women. You are not alone. You are trusted, loved, and supported. We’re rooting for you, Megan.”

Rapper ‘WAP’ Slams Drake Because of Defamatory Lyrics

The open letter comes days after the “Captain Hook” rapper called out Drake for the lyrics to his latest song. The song “Circo Loco” was released as one of several tracks on Drake’s latest collaboration album, “Her Loss,” featuring 21 Savage.

The Blast updates that Megan has taken to Twitter to slam the Canadian rapper claiming the song contains lyrics that defame him.

In part of the song, Drake raps, “This b**ch lie gonna get shot but he still a stallion / He ain’t got a joke but he still smile,” as if accusing Megan of lying about being shot by her friend Lanez in 2020.

In response, he tweeted, “I know I’m super popular but y’all need to stop attaching lame conspiracy theories in bars to my name lol. ‘N*gg*s or h**s EVER contact me or @ me WITH facts or receipt. I CLOUT B**ch keep sucking my dick.”

He went on to call out the singer who has distanced himself from Kanye when he made anti-Semitic remarks but turned a blind eye in a case where a woman was the victim.

As for the argument between the “Savage” rapper and Lanez, the case is still in court. The rapper was released on bail following his arrest on the charges in late 2020.

However, he was arrested again in 2022 when a judge ruled he was in violation of a protective order issued that prevented him from harassing and intimidating Megan. The next hearing of the “Feel it too” singer is scheduled for November 28. Lanez faces a possible prison sentence of 22 years and eight months if convicted.
