Meghan King seems to have her ex-husband Jim Edmonds’ best interests at heart as she yearns for her marriage to her new partner, Kortnie O’Connor.
King and Edmonds, who share three children, have been married for half a decade since 2014, separating in 2019, although they finalized their divorce last year. The 38-year-old star congratulated the newlyweds while opening up to mark a milestone in the former athlete’s life.

She wants him to do whatever it takes to keep his bride around, including “taking her on luxury trips, buying her Ferraris and Chanel [purses] and private jets.”
The Bravo star continued, “Do whatever you can to keep this woman because I don’t know what would have happened without her. Like, he’s going to collapse.” He also insists that his ex-partner’s marriage provides “stability” for their children: Aspen, 5, and twins Hart and Hayes, 4, while admitting:
“[O’Connor] is the one my children have known for the past three years. And that stability is very important. I couldn’t give them stability and a partner, which is a big part of the mother’s guilt for me.”
Even with Edmonds’ “mountains of guilt” and the temporary restraining order filed against him, King is ready to give him “tools” when the time comes. While confirming her children’s absence from their father’s wedding, she also spoke about the restraining order, which was lifted earlier this month.
He insisted that the charges were not dropped out of fear but due to his change and evolution, which made him feel safe. However, the former spouse signed a “consent order” that maintained the same terms as the restraining order.
King further reveals that things have gotten better since he got the order, and with Edmonds now in Italy, he left him alone. He also said, “It was as if his wedding day was also the best day of my life.”
Speaking of the temporary restraining order, it was filed in June when the TV personality accused the former athlete of displaying “frequent and consistent verbal abuse” towards her even on their court-monitored co-parenting app, Our Family Wizard.
Three months later, the order was dropped, and soon after, Edmonds tied the knot with O’Connor in a destination wedding in Lake Como, Italy. PEOPLE details the beautiful ceremony revealing that the couple exchanged vows in front of thirty-two guests at the Giardino del Mosaico, a nineteenth-century villa, part of the magnificent Villa d’Este.
The delighted bride told the magazine it was “absolutely a dream wedding in a beautiful location” surrounded by the important people in their lives. It was more than he could have imagined. Likewise, Edmonds finally understood “true happiness” for the first time in his life, and for him, the best part of the marriage was spending the rest of his life with his lover.
Fans will recall that the married couple first revealed their romance in April 2020 and got engaged last July, leading to their eventual wedding in September.

The University of Mississippi alumnus shared details about the layoff, saying that he has become more aware of what he’s going through and how to manage it as he continues to heal. He further mentioned that he will remain “protected and secured by binding documents that cannot be accessed by the public.”
Shortly after the firing, his ex’s representative Steve Honig said the former baseball player was eager to put all the events behind him as he began his new life with O’Connor. Edmonds also intends to focus on their children, the representative stated, adding that she believes King does not need any protection orders because there are no threats.
