The chemistry between “Real Housewives of Orange County” alum Meghan King and “Bachelorette” alum Mike Johnson is undeniable from afar, but what exactly went on behind the scenes of their Vegas date prep during the iHeartRadio Music Festival? King finally spilled the tea on the date that happened a few weeks ago on his latest “Intimate Knowledge” podcast.

What Happens In Vegas, Stays In Vegas
King revealed what happened during and after the two reality stars enjoyed a festival weekend together in Vegas. Does the old adage, “Whatever happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas” hold true in this case? King did a quick scan for his podcast guest, Heather McDonald, to catch her up to speed on the juicy gossip. Teddi Mellencamp also joined by phone for this segment of the episode.
“I was set up with Mike Johnson by the team here on the ‘Intimate Knowledge’ podcast. It was kind of an experiment for a podcast,” he began. “I was ready, he flew to Vegas and we went on a date on Friday night and then on Saturday night we walked the red carpet together. And it’s just to see what the media will do with this. What will happen, will people talk? And it worked. That’s what happened.”
On Saturday night, Mellencamp also hung out with King and Johnson. King said, “I feel like I’m a partner with Mike.” Mellencamp jumped in with his take. “I remember telling you in the toilet I could hear what he was saying to you and all this but this was absolutely not going to be a long term thing,” he said. “And you argued back with me. I think you called me purple or something and gave me an aura color.” King said he felt they had a real connection, to which Mellencamp chimed in, “Yeah, you probably have a Vegas connection and that’s where I’ll leave it.”

Meghan King Tries To Reconnect With Mike Johnson After Vegas Weekend
The reality star later explained what happened after the date ended on Saturday night. “The night ended, he went back to his room, there was nothing to do. The next morning he had to fly early and I felt bad. I was like I took over completely, like when we were walking the red carpet, I took over the interview and I felt pretty bad. I really like him,” he explained. “I returned to St. Louis and I felt bad so I confronted him and I was like, ‘Mike, I just wanted to tell you that I have to run, I’m going to lunch, but I really enjoyed my weekend with you. I think it started as this blind date setup but I really have an honest relationship with you, and I’m sorry if you ever feel buried or anything. I just need to call you and tell you that the way I’m acting is right.’”

Later in the conversation, King said that the two tried to reconnect but ran into problems. “I got a text from him, a long text,” she said before he read the text saying he only saw the two of them as friends. Mellencamp added, “I think he’s a very sweet and kind person. I think he came for the opportunity. I didn’t see that moment where I was like, ‘Wow, I think Mike is ready to settle down and have some kids.’” She also told King that she then contacted him to see if he could help her get representation for a soap opera.
“I have to give him props. At least he was honest with me. I think most men in this situation would have completely haunted me,” King said. “That chapter is closed. Move.”
