The two were branded “f**king grifters” by a company executive, who discussed his interactions with them in a podcast.
With the loss of the deal, it is claimed the couple may find their full bills more difficult to manage despite still having a deal with Netflix.

Meghan Markle & Prince Harry Slammed Over Their Failed Podcast

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry recently came under fire from Spotify staff after their podcast deal was canceled by the company, per Page Six.
Bill Simmons, Spotify’s president of foreign sports content, referred to the pair as “f**king grifters” in a recent podcast episode where he discussed his working relationship with them.
He also poked fun at the pair, saying: “I wish I was involved in the ‘Meghan and Harry leave Spotify’ talks. That’s the podcast we should be launching with them.”

The deal was decided to be worth $20 million, although it is not known how many years Meghan and Harry agreed to when the deal was signed in 2020.
The couple has produced just 13 hours of content since signing, which includes 12 episodes of Markle’s “Archetypes” podcast and one holiday special.
It is believed that the Sussexes will not receive nearly the full amount they could have received under the arrangement due to an apparent lack of substance and that the deal was terminated before it expired.
Why Spotify Ended Meghan Markle & Prince Harry’s Deals
MEGA
Sources close to the Sussex deal claim it has not lived up to its potential despite initially high hopes.
“Even though ‘Archetypes’ did well and won a few awards, when you do a deal like this, to have only one series over that period is not good,” the source said, according to Page Six.
Speaking further on the deal, the insider shared that “Obama and his production company, Higher Ground,” which also has a deal with Spotify, are delivering “multiple new series.”
Another insider added some context to why Spotify may have ended the deal they had with the former royal.
The insider said, “Spotify wants to focus on people who drive strong audiences, like Alex Cooper, Dax Shepard and Emma Chamberlain. There are a lot of great creators who are very passionate.”
“Meghan and Harry are the ones left behind in all of this; I think they are considered lazy and difficult.”
Spouse’s Bills Reported to be Piling Up

The loss of the Spotify deal has caused a sharp decline in the couple’s finances since they stopped being full-time royals and moved to California with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
Currently, the two have several money-sucking obligations, including a hefty mortgage on the Tuscan-style mansion they bought in June 2020 for $14.7 million.
Harry and Meghan also have to pay nearly $200,000 in annual property taxes on the property in addition to paying for staff and maintenance.
The cost of the couple’s personal security detail is estimated at around $2 million a year. Harry’s ongoing legal battles with the British press have also cost the couple a fortune in legal bills.
Regardless of their financial woes, a source said the couple isn’t “broke, but they need to keep spending their money instead of saving it.”
‘There Are More Lessons In Failure Than Success’

Meanwhile, PR guru Mark Borkowksi commented on the Sussexes’ move to America, saying that the focus was no longer on them.
He shared that Meghan and, by extension, her husband, Harry, need to go back to the drawing board and come up with new plans.
“This is an opportunity for Meghan to take stock. There are more lessons in failure than success,” said Borkowksi, per Page Six.
He added, “It is important to note that failure is a natural part of life, and it does not define a person’s worth or potential. Time to hire a critical friend.”
It is reported that Meghan currently has several new projects in the works that she is keeping under wraps.
She and her husband are still under contract for a five-year deal with Netflix, which produced their Netflix docuseries “Harry and Meghan” and the upcoming “Invictus Games.”
