Meghan Markle & Prince Harry To Spill The ‘Full Truth’ On Their Two-Part Docuseries

After months of anticipation, the premiere date for Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle’s two-part Netflix documentary has been announced. In January 2020, the couple announced that they had decided to step back from their roles as senior members of the British Royal Family. The decision stripped the title of senior royal and everything that came with it.

The famous couple continues to have a seemingly troubled relationship with the rest of the family stemming from their decision and a revealing interview with Oprah Winfrey earlier this year.

The announcement of Harry and Markle’s docs with Netflix didn’t help matters and further distanced them from the royal family, especially the father of two younger brothers, Prince William.

After months of waiting, Netflix has just announced that the first volume of the couple’s six-episode documentary will be available on December 8 on the streaming platform. Volume two of the “Harry & Meghan” series will reportedly premiere on December 15.

The documentary will highlight everything the couple faced during their time together and some of the behind-the-scenes happenings in the royal family. The news of the series’ release date was followed by a trailer in which the couple can be heard talking.

The father of two said, “It’s very hard to look at him now and say, ‘What happened?’ There is a family hierarchy.” “You know, there are leaks, but there are also planting stories.” He continued, “It’s a dirty game.”

Further in the trailer, clips of Princess Diana and Kate Middleton closely followed by photographers were shown. In a voiceover for the scene, Harry says, “The pain and suffering of women married to this institution – this feeding frenzy.”

At this point, Markle chimed in, revealing that at one point, she realized that “they’re not going to protect you.” The Duke of Sussex spoke about Princess Diana, his late mother, revealing he was “terrified” of the past repeating itself. He added, “No one knows the whole truth. We know the full truth.”

The documentary was directed by Liz Garbus, known for her Oscar-nominated films. The director is the brains behind such celebrity biopics as “Becoming Cousteau,” “What Happened, Miss Simone?” And “Love, Marylin,” “

Netflix revealed that the upcoming series will delve into “the secret early days of their courtship and the challenges that led them to feel compelled to step back from their full-time roles at the institution.”

The popular platform further explained that viewers can expect comments from the couple’s friends and family, the majority of whom have yet to speak out about the incident they witnessed. There will also be input from historians who will shed light on the royal family’s relationship with the press and the current state of the British Commonwealth.

“This series is more than just illuminating the love story of a married couple; it paints a picture of our world and how we treat each other,” he added.

Meghan and Harry have been working with Netflix since September 2020 in a multi-year deal. The deal will see the pair’s Sussex production company, now Archewell Productions, produce exclusive titles on scripted shows, documentaries, documentaries, children’s programming and feature films for the streaming giant.

During the interview with Diversity in October, Meghan talked about the Netflix series and how she felt about Garbus’ input. “It’s nice to be able to trust someone with our story — an experienced director whose work I’ve long admired — even if it means it might not be the way we tell it,” he said.

The Duchess of Sussex added, “But that’s not why we’re telling him. We trust our story to other people, and that means it’s going through their lens.” Markle went on to note her husband’s inexperience, his experience in the entertainment industry and how “amazing” she felt being around so many creators.

The mother of two gave a similarly vague answer when talking about the documentary in a previous interview Deductions, explained that he did not intend to be “cagey.” According to Markle, she stays away from the press and, as a result, does not know which part of the series is confirmed.
