Stephen Belafonte’s shocking emails to his ex Melanie Janine Brown, also known as Mail B, have been revealed in connection with their ongoing custody battle.
The letter, which was submitted as evidence, showed the singer had a verbal spat over their daughter, Madison, as well as visitation rights. The couple is now involved in a custody battle for the 11-year-old child.
Mel B recently accused Belafonte of withholding their daughter’s whereabouts several times and claimed he failed to properly fulfill his parental responsibilities. She also asked the court to require Belafonte to seek her approval before allowing outsiders to accompany their daughter.

According to a report by Online Radarsinger and former Spice Girl Mel B and her estranged husband Belafonte’s court battle escalated after a series of text messages exchanged between the couple in May 2021 were presented as evidence.
The exes are currently battling over custody of their 11-year-old daughter Madison, and the explosive email is set to play a big role in who wins the case.
In their ongoing litigation, Mel B accuses Stephen of occasionally withholding information about their daughter’s whereabouts. The singer’s lawyer further emphasized his point, saying Belafonte had “largely left Melanie in the dark – failing to provide her with basic information.”
As part of the argument presented by Mel B’s lawyer, the singer wants the court to rule that the separated couple must mutually approve any companion for their daughter outside of immediate family members.
Mel B also accused Stephen of failing in his co-parenting responsibilities, citing that his ex “did not provide a timely address for Madison’s residence while in her custody.”

Mel B cited the example of when Stephen allowed their daughter to live with a woman named Bahare. She shared that her ex did this without asking for her own consent.
According to the publication, “Bahare is actually a close friend of Lorraine Gilles, who Stephen and Court are aware is not allowed to be around Madison under any circumstances.”
Before the former couple’s acrimonious divorce, Lorraine worked for the couple and allegedly made several sexual attempts with them at different parties at their home.
In response to Mel B’s accusations, Stephen insisted that the singer was fully aware of Bahare as a caretaker, seemingly suggesting that her allegations were false. He also revealed that he keeps his ex informed about their daughter’s life and whereabouts.

As part of the revelation in the mail, Belafonte insulted Mel B by saying she ruined her career in the middle of a conversation about being there for their daughter.
Stephen said, “you’ve single-handedly ruined your career trying to look like a victim, and no one is taking part, and now you keep preaching it to me no matter how much you say it won’t make it come. [sic] true if I was so rude and so hurtful, you should grow with your career in life now and not worry me just our daughter.
He added, “I’m not trying to abuse you by offering someone I trust around our daughter, and you trust him until you lie about that person. I am only interested in our daughter’s safety, and I know he will be someone who will not hurt our daughter.”

Following the submission of the emails as evidence, Mel B and Belafonte are scheduled to face their day in court at a later date. It is unclear when that will happen, but per Online Radarhearings will take place later this year.
Mel B and Belafonte were married for 10 years before they announced their decision to separate in 2017. The couple had a contentious divorce case following their split, which was finalized in December 2017.
As part of the reasons for their split, Mel B accused Belafonte of physical abuse during their marriage, alienating her from her family, and infidelity with Gilles, who allegedly impregnated and aborted his child. The singer also claimed that he exploited her financially. Belafonte has denied Mel’s claims.
