Melanie Lynskey revealed that her friendships in Hollywood are non-existent, as some stars have chosen not to connect.

The Yellow jacket actor appeared on Josh Horowitz’s “Happy Sad Confused” podcast this week, admitting that keeping actors friends is more complicated than it seems. Lynskey shared that she has worked with two famous actors who chose not to continue the friendship for one reason or another, but it really affected her.
“I did this movie with this actor, and when we finished, I said, ‘Oh my gosh, I’m so glad I met you and we had this friendship,’ and he said, ‘Yeah, I’m not friends with actors. I not friends with actors,’” Lynskey recounts.
The confessions from the unknown actors baffled Lynskey, who had just spent weeks becoming emotionally intimate with them and sensed that friendship was forming off the set. How could he be wrong, he wondered.
“And I was like, ‘What?'” he told Horowitz. “I was very surprised by it,” the only clue he gave as to who the person was was “someone who has been on the job longer than I have.”

The actress, who is married to Jason Ritter, claims that this is not the first friendship heartbreak she has experienced. He and Titanic actress Kate Winslet was very close during the shooting of the murder mystery film Heavenly Creatures.
“When I broke up with Kate, it was more heartbreaking than some of the breakups I’ve been through,” he told the host. “It was very painful, and it was not like anything happened; it’s just that he becomes a big international movie star, and he doesn’t have a lot of time, and then, all of a sudden, he’ll be in Los Angeles and he doesn’t have time.”

The women bear no ill will toward each other, and Lynskey admits their loss of touch “gradually happened.” It doesn’t make the transition any easier, though. “It happens in relationships. People stay away, but that hurts me a lot.”
Lynskey knew why he was so attached. “I am very sensitive. I am always hurt by the loss of this great love that I had.” The Two and a Half Men the actor added, “It gets easier.”

Lynskey thinks that when he sees Winslet, it’s always pleasant. The last time he saw her was in 2009 at the premiere We candirected by Sam Mendes, who is Winslet’s husband.
Lynskey told Horowitz that she looks up to her co-stars, especially after being shamed by production and so-called fans. He sees her as an “inspiration” and hopes Winslet will keep her head.
“I knew he was very confident, but everyone was sensitive, and he was very compassionate,” she recalls. “And the way he was dissected and talked about … I remember at the time being very angry on his behalf.”
Looks like Kate lost a good friend in Melanie.
