Martin appears to be finding his feet a month after Carter, with whom he shares a one-year-old son, Prince, died. During their time together, the Hampton University alum and the “Fool’s Gold” singer had a turbulent relationship.
That, however, was not evident in the sweet photo Martin recently shared with his 218k followers via his Instagram Stories. The photo features “The Shadow Box” theater star holding a phone as she and Carter pose in front of a mirror.
The couple looked cute as a button in matching gray and white onesies and barefoot. In the arms of the “Fat Albert” actor was their son, who seemed oblivious to his parents’ plans thanks to the nap he was enjoying. Carter nuzzled the baby boy’s neck while his fiance put her hand on his shoulder.
Martin brings the waterworks to life in another Instagram Story that shows a festive outfit — in adult sizes — on a floor rug. In the background, the instrumental for “Somewhere in My Memory” from “Home Alone: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack” plays slowly.
While it’s possible Carter was supposed to be rocking the onesie, it’s unclear if Martin was the one who bought it for her or if the rapper had seen it before her unexpected death in November.

The bittersweet mood of the post perfectly matches the actress’s feelings regarding her custody victory. According to The Blast, she regained full custody of Prince after a Los Angeles judge ruled in her favor. Although Martin was in New York when the decision was made, he immediately boarded a flight to California to retrieve his son from his grandmother.
The child has been in Martin’s mother’s care since September due to concerns raised by Carter’s drug abuse and domestic violence tendencies. Speaking about the win, “I Could Never Be Your Woman” actress Amy Heckerling stated:
“I respect Aaron today, and I know he would be very proud of me. I was so emotional thinking we could be a family, but Aaron would be so happy to know I got him back.”
Even Carter’s mother, Jane Elizabeth, who is not a big fan of Martin, said she was happy with the court’s decision to return custody of the Prince to Martin. “The child should be with the mother,” Jane explained.
Martin previously revealed that his men’s wish for the festive break was for them to “get custody of our child by Christmas.”

“I don’t want any bad blood with Aaron’s family. Anyone who wants to be in the Prince’s life can be in the Prince’s life,” he added. Her optimistic outlook comes after Jane revealed that her granddaughter’s mother will not be invited to scatter Harun’s ashes in 2023.
The “Ooh Wee” hitmaker’s ashes — which are in the custody of her twin sister — will be returned to her home state of Florida and spread out into the ocean along with her sister, Leslie, who died in 2012.
