Actress Melissa Barrera has reportedly been dropped from the upcoming horror film “Scream VII” following controversy surrounding her social media posts related to the Israel-Hamas conflict.
Barrera took to his IG Stories to slam Israel for treating Gaza “like a concentration camp,” calling the war “genocide” and “ethnic cleansing.”
The “Vida” star’s ouster comes after reports that fellow actress and activist Susan Sarandon was dropped by her Hollywood agency following comments she made about Jews in America.

And just like our history, people are still silently watching it all happen. THIS IS CONSTRUCTION CONSTRUCTION & ETHNIC CLEANSING.”
In another post, the actor, best known for his breakout performance in “In the Heights,” shared a placard that read “Palestine WILL be free,” adding, “They’re trying to bury us, they don’t know we’re seeds.”

Some fans stated that they “won’t see the new movie”, while others called for a “boycott”.

Sarandon’s comments have been criticized for perpetuating harmful stereotypes and engaging in what some have described as anti-Jewish banter.
