One of the main things that will forever stand out for McCarthy is how he was on set. “Sometimes we jam on little things with coats, but it’s actually like 112 degrees in Burbank, [California]. And we were like, ‘Brrr, Connecticut!’” the actor recalled.
He talked to Entertainment Weekly, giving all the behind-the-scenes looks at life on the set. Many like that the atmosphere of the show is strange. A small town that’s home to a single mom just trying to make it and her daughter navigating her first love and the big school-related problems she can handle.

The Little Mermaid the actor explained that something that didn’t make sense on set was how random the script was sometimes. “And I was like, ‘Did we explain why I have Malaria and why I’m sweating profusely?'”
She also recalls an actress who passed her over because of her excessive heat and wardrobe. “When we made our first poster, someone fainted,” he says with a smile. “Like, just [passed] it’s cold because we’re all in coats and trying to look fluffy, and we’re just sweating in weird places, and [they were] like, ‘Looks cool!’”

Many fans hope to see Sookie St. James in the Netflix revival, but he was not offered a role in the series. That is one thing that rubs fans the wrong way. “Thanks for the invitation, but unfortunately no one asked me or Sookie to come back to Stars Hollow.”
He revealed the sad news after a fan mentioned that he was not excited and that he was not promoting anything Gilmore Girls revival. “Wish them the best!!” he wrote. Fans noticed the absence and chatted about it online.
It doesn’t stop them from loving their own seasons. And creator Amy Sherman-Palladino admitted they tried to get McCarthy on set. While talking to TV linehe said the actor’s schedule is tight.

However, McCarthy is always welcome, the director said. “He’s busy. But I have said [to her teams, ‘Look, if Melissa is available and has an afternoon free, I’ll write her a scene.”
She continued. “Melissa was one of us. Suppose she has a spare moment to run over [to the set] — even if only as a cameo — we’ll be completely game. And if it’s a last minute thing, I’ll write it down, and we’ll figure it out. That’s how we left it.”
McCarthy revealed a few months later that he had worked things out and returned to being part of the 90-minute final.
“I went back and visited about two weeks ago and saw the set again and everyone in it, and it just felt – oh, my God, I got so sentimental. It felt like the greatest idea in the world. It was just beautiful. It was so beautiful.”
He continued of his experience, “There was the longest time when it wasn’t going to work out, on schedule, and then when we decided, like, ‘Is there any way possible?’ Something big happened to me [and] something has changed for them.”
And one of the best things about this time is that nobody faints, and they don’t get hot.
