US Rep. Mike Collins is touting the X-stock charger and Tesla CEO Elon Musk apparently gave it to him for Christmas celebrating the lawmaker’s meme-posting abilities.
“Wow! Thank you @elonmusk! ??,” Collins (R-Ga.) posted on X along with a video of a sign from the company’s headquarters proclaiming the new Republican member to be a “Member of Congress.”
Collins places the new nameplate, which also features the bold “X” logo of Musk’s social media platform, on his congressional desk in the video.
The congressman from Georgia’s 10th District rose to prominence during the Republican conference’s three-week search for a new House speaker following the ouster of Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) on Oct. 3.
Attention-grabbing content increases the representative’s online audience by thousands, and at the moment Collins is enjoying more than 20,000 followers for his congressional X account.

“meme king” did not vote to vacate McCarthy’s speakership but made some funny post in weeks before GOP Conference vice chairman Mike Johnson (R-La.) won the gavel.
He expressed concern this month that the California Republican’s decision to leave office before the end of his term next November could leave Republicans with only a “two-seat majority” after the expulsion of Rep. George Santos (R-NY) who lied.
Collins made a brief bid to replace Johnson as vice chairman of the Republican conference, a post held by Rep. Blake Moore (R-Utah) after several rounds of voting.
