Food Network star Michael Chiarello has died at the age of 61 after being rushed to a hospital where he received treatment for an “acute allergic reaction.”
Although his passing was apparently the result of an allergic reaction, his death certificate, obtained by Explosionindicated that Chiarello’s official cause of death is still pending investigation.

After undergoing an autopsy, the cause of death of the late celebrity chef Michael Chiarello was listed as “delayed.”
His official death certificate was obtained by Explosion indicated that the cause of Chiarello’s death is still “under investigation.”
Chiarello died at the age of 61, and according to a statement from his company, Gruppo Chiarello, he died in Napa, California, where he was undergoing treatment for an acute allergic reaction. This inevitably caused Chiarello to go into anaphylactic shock which led to his death.

In a statement confirming his death, the Chiarello family said, “We are deeply saddened by the loss of our beloved patriarch Michael. Her culinary excellence, boundless creativity, and unwavering commitment to family are at the core of who she is.”
“He brings people together through the joy of shared meals, fostering lasting memories around the table. As we deal with this profound loss, we cherish the moments we cherished with her, both in her kitchen and in our hearts,” the family continued.
They concluded, noting that “his legacy will live on forever in the love he poured into every dish and the passion he instilled in all of us to enjoy the flavors of life.”

Chiarello showed his kindness in 2017 by cooking nonstop to help firefighting efforts in wine country.
The late chef at the time lent his culinary skills by preparing 20 pounds of Spaghetti Bolognese and delivering it to the firefighters who were hard at work controlling the fire outbreak in the area.
A rep for Chiarello exclusively told Explosion that the former Food Network star cooked without electricity because his popular Bottega restaurant, along with the entire region, had suffered a power outage. So Chiarello had to cook in the dark on a gas stove.
The representative also shared, at the time, that Chiarello and his colleagues were safe from the fire, allowing them to focus their energy on feeding first responders.

Chiarello, who was born in 1962 in Red Bluff, California, is best known for hosting food-related shows on networks such as the Food Network, PBS and the Cooking Channel.
