“Stranger Things” star Millie Bobby Brown has expressed interest in turning the show’s final season into a musical. The actor said he wanted to be a writer for the finale and make it a musical like the iconic musical episode “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.” The ending is still in pre-production, so Brown’s idea isn’t an impossibility.
The Duffer Brothers have shared little news about the final season, but they have confirmed that it will be shorter than the fourth season and conclude various storylines. Brown also addressed rumors that he will be in the confirmed ‘Stranger Things’ spin-off. He didn’t deny it outright but said he would love to guide other actors in the same role.
However, the Duffer Brothers have confirmed that the spin-off will be something “very different.” While fans wait for the fifth season, Brown has several upcoming projects, such as the highly anticipated “Enola Holmes” sequel, and other films, such as “Damsel” and “The Electric State.”

Brown, who played the role of Eleven in “Stranger Things,” spoke to her Total Movies about some of his ideas for the series finale of the hit show. The actor said he loved being given creative control and making it a musical.
Brown said, “I want to be a writer! I would make it more of a musical. But, you know, they didn’t entrust it to me, which they should have.” He gave examples of musical episodes that he would use as inspiration for his musical ideas. The show he mentioned is the long-running FX comedy starring Charlie Day, Kaitlin Olson, and Rob McElhenney.
He continued, “Believe me, I could do the finale for ‘Stranger Things,’ and it would be great. I think it should be something like ‘It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia.’ Have you ever seen an episode of the musical? It has to end like that—a musical episode.” The musical episode he’s referring to is the rock opera the cast played in the episode titled “The Nightman Cometh.”

The Duffer Brothers have kept the news about “Stranger Things” season five under wraps, and filming has yet to begin. Actress Sadie Sink spoke to Deadline and said, “This past season took two years in total, so who knows how long season five will take. The Duffers no doubt know fans will be patiently waiting for season five, but I don’t think they’ll be in a rush. They want to make the best final season that they possibly can.”
The Duffer Brothers have confirmed that the final season will have shorter episodes than the fourth season but will most likely be another long episode. In a recent interview with E! News, the show’s executive producer Shawn Levy said the final season “will answer all the remaining questions. Levy also said, “we are in the business to satisfy the audience.”

During his conversation with Total Movies, Brown addressed the growing rumors that he’s appearing in a confirmed “Stranger Things” spinoff. He joked about mentoring the rest of the Eleven cast, saying, “I’d love to see another bald 10-year-old given that opportunity. I will help him navigate it.”
During a recent appearance on the “Happy Sad Confused” podcast, the Duffer Brothers also talked about spin-off rumors. They said, “I’ve read these rumors that there’s going to be an Eleven spin-off, that there’s going to be a Steve and Dustin spin-off or that it’s another number.”
The brothers explained that all the rumors were false. They said, “That’s not interesting to me because we’ve done all that. We’ve spent I don’t know how many hours exploring it all. So it’s very different.” They revealed that only one person knew the contents of the spin-off, and that was Finn Wolfhard because he guessed right.
