Fredrik Eklund is celebrating two years of sobriety. The “Million Dollar Listing: New York” alum took to Instagram to share her success and gratitude, as well as thank her fans for their continued support.

Fredrik Eklund Celebrates Two Years Without Alcohol
To mark the occasion, Eklund, 45, posted a carousel of photos of her 4-year-old twins Milla and Fredrik “Freddy Jr.” with husband Derek Kaplan, 47. “Today I celebrate 2 years alcohol free… the first time I shared it was day 73 and people were like whaaat lol?!! I am so grateful and happy, who knew a healthy birthday was celebrated in such a big way. Even my kids wake me up with cake,” she began her caption.
He continued by explaining what had changed since his last drop of alcohol. “In the last two years many things have changed, important things and give me the most positive and bright outlook ahead. Fatherhood, work, travel, friends, and presence, all rolled into one. I’m still a work in progress but today it feels like anything is possible.”

His caption then explained that he was getting ready to “launch something pretty significant in the next week or so, actually related to sobriety.” “More on that later here, I promise it will surprise some of you in a good way. Thanks for your support as always, dear F xx.”

Eklund first announced that he had quit drinking alcohol on New Year’s Day 2021 with a post explaining his thoughts on the journey. “I have given up alcohol and although it is too early, I want to share with you how I feel about it. It’s time to quit, well overdue actually, and if you know me well, you know it’s the only thing that’s given me extra weight as a father, businessman and health for so long. The alcohol took more than I gave me towards the end. And this is coming from a man who has his own wine,” he wrote alongside a carousel of pictures of him with his daughter Milla.

“Today I have 77 days sober and could not be more grateful to the people who influenced me to get here. very. It’s true what they say: it’s not easy but it’s worth it. I won’t sell you too much on it but it is night and day. This morning I started 2021 at the most beautiful sunrise with a clear mind and body. And hopefully every morning for the rest of my life, a more rewarding life without it. As I know many people (at least in my life) are toying with the idea of how to actually quit – if interested please contact me for gentle instructions.”
The reality star also gave occasional updates along the way on Instagram. During a father/daughter trip to Europe, Eklund posted a photo of himself with Milla and ended the caption with, “Ps. 262 days sober today for everyone asking btw! 🙏😁”

Fredrik Eklund Updates His Fans On His Sobriety Journey
When Eklund hit the 18-month sobriety mark, he once again updated his Instagram followers on how life had changed. “18 months without alcohol today. Some of the ways I have changed: feeling good early in the morning, fully using my intelligence, joy in my work, love and trust in my children, less regrets, confidence in my friends, respect in my family, believe in a bright future happiness, appreciation for the beauty of nature, knowing what it is all about. I also dream more and more and start new projects everywhere,” he captioned a picture of himself with Kaplan.
“Travel has taken on a new meaning. I have doubled my real estate business in this relatively short time. I am present and more efficient, yet getting through it more slowly each day. In many ways I have become more myself, by peeling away the unnecessary and quieting the noise. I often think about how I reconnected with my boy once upon a time. I can’t explain it any other way but it’s the best feeling and I’m forever grateful for the help I received to get here because I wouldn’t have been able to do it on my own. ❤️”

Eklund and Kaplan married in 2013 and welcomed their twins four years ago. The couple moved from New York City to Los Angeles in 2020. Eklund announced that he would be leaving the show after the ninth season, which premiered in May 2021.
