Acting Career
Mimi Chakraborty started her career as a model; she is one of the contestants of Femina Miss India. He made his acting debut with the TV series “Champion” which aired on Akash Bangla in 2008. He then did the TV show “Gaaner Oparey (2010-11),” where he played the role of ‘Pupe,’ which became very popular.
She made her film debut with the Bengali film “Bapi Bari Jaa” in 2002. 
Political career
Mimi joined the All India Trinamool Congress (TMC) in 2019.
He is contesting the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections from Jadavpur Constituency in West Bengal. He won the election with 2,95,239 votes against BJP’s Anupam Hazra.

- Mimi Chakraborty faced heavy criticism after one of her pictures went viral on social media. The picture shows him wearing gloves while shaking hands with ordinary people during one of his election campaigns. The BJP claimed that it was an insult to the voters. Afterwards, Mimi’s supporters claimed that she had suffered burns and fingernail scratches during the previous election campaign, which was the reason why she had to wear gloves.
- After his name was announced as a candidate for the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections, he faced various criticisms. She found herself in controversy when she posted a photo of herself wearing a ‘hijab’ and wishing her a happy Ramadan on social media. She was criticized for hurting the religious sentiments of the public for wearing the ‘hijab’ and was labeled as a ‘cheap publicity act’ to gain votes.
- Mimi Chakraborty, after her victory in the Lok Sabha Elections 2019, posted her picture on social media with Parliament in the background. He was badly beaten for wearing western clothes in parliament; with people telling him that’s not where he’s shooting and he should start getting serious.
