“Guys, it’s Mindy Kaling. I have incredible news,” she began the video while wearing a colorful and vibrant outfit. “It’s about a character that is near and dear to my heart.”
She continued to talk about her big news with a constant wardrobe change. “I don’t know how to describe him. except as an unhinged gynecologist,” he continued. “He loves romantic comedies, his patients, lying on the floor drinking wine from a bra. He’s a lot of things, but that b—h knows how get dressed.”

Kaling posted several clips and photos on Instagram from “The Mindy Project” in September to celebrate the show’s 10th anniversary. “I really like this show. The cast, crew and writers room remain my favorite and most important people in my life today,” she began captioning a video clip from the show. “I wanted to play a woman who is basically a good person, but also very crazy, and has a lot of things that she has to deal with.”
His caption goes on to explain how he envisioned the show. “Coming from The Office, I wanted the show to be filled with humor, but also, like You’ve Got Mail or When Harry Met Sally, really romantic and make you want to live in New York City,” he explained. “Also, I wanted to wear amazing head-to-toe designer clothes even though I wasn’t (and still am not) a size 2. I think we did it! It will always be the most fun six years (117 episodes!) of my life! I’ll be sharing some of my favorite moments and scenes throughout the week!”
In another post about the show, she explains how fashion often takes center stage. “Fashion is a big part of The Mindy Project. I want Mindy Lahiri to look great and get attention (subtlety is not her vibe lol),” she explained. “Of all her personality flaws, being insecure about her body has never been one of her problems, and I want the show to we’re telling you that style transcends size.”
The actor/writer/producer also explained how fitting costumes sometimes takes hours and he always looks forward to it. The caption is a carousel of Kaling’s 10 favorite outfits from the show.
