Missing pig named Kevin Bacon finally found after shout-out from actor Kevin Bacon

A pig named Kevin Bacon who spent more than two weeks on the run in Pennsylvania is finally coming home thanks to some sticky buns, Benadryl and a shout out from his namesake, actor Kevin Bacon.

Chelsea Rumbaugh brought two-year-old, 200-pound pig Juliana home to her farm in Cumberland Township on Oct. 13 — but the next day the pesky pig had dug under her pen and escaped, she wrote in a Facebook page previously titled “Bring Kevin Go home.”

“We are very close [to Kevin] my 16-year-old son was petting her,” Rumbaugh wrote on the page. “He stayed close but eventually took off into the forest.”

Over the next two weeks, the pig spent its time roaming the woods in the area, occasionally making an appearance at a neighbor’s house but evading capture.

Kevin dug out of his enclosure on October 14, and was finally captured on Tuesday after wandering the area for weeks. Rumbaugh launched a Facebook page to warn local hunters and ask neighbors to help track down Kevin. The page soon took off, attracting thousands of followers concerned about the pig.

When award-winning actor Kevin Bacon found out about the unleashed pig, he called to spread the word, posting on the Meta Thread app: “Bring Kevin Home!”

Meanwhile, Kevin the pig, will continue to wander close to the house, but rushes away when someone approaches.

“Kevin and I have been doing a song and dance since 8:30 in the morning,” Rumbaugh wrote on October 30, the day before he was rearrested.

“He came close, I waited and then an inch towards him, he ran away. He didn’t even ask to dance, he just felt like it was fun,” he wrote.

Frustrated, Rumbaugh decided to lace the bun with benadryl in hopes that Kevin would fall asleep.

“The Benadryl sticky bun was eaten and now I’m looking for a passed out pig somewhere. We saw him at 6:40 in the yard so I hope he’s close,” he wrote on Tuesday.

A few hours later, she posted a picture of Kevin back in her pen: “He’s home.”

Now getting used to his new home and socializing with his fellow pigs, Kevin will spend his time resting and eating snacks, he said.

Rumbaugh also said he is considering writing a series of children’s books based on Kevin’s adventures.

The Facebook page was later renamed “Kevin’s Home Adventure,” documenting his day-to-day antics on the farm.
