Mita Vashisht, also known as Meeta Vashisht, is an Indian television, film and theater actress. Mita has played supporting roles in many Hindi films and TV serials. Mita is famous for playing the role of ‘Trishna’ in the popular TV series, “Kahani Ghar Ghar ki.”

Mita Vashisht was born on Thursday, 2 November 1967 (age 53 years; as in 2020) in Village Jatal, Pune. His zodiac sign is Scorpio. Mita is a post graduate in literature from Panjab University, Chandigarh. After completing his studies, Vashisht attended the National School of Drama (NSD), Delhi to study acting. After that, he taught students fashion design, film directing, and acting.

Career
Mita Vashisht started her acting career in 1989 with the film, “Chandni” where she played the role of Chandni’s friend. After that, she appeared in films like “Drishti,” “Kasba,” “Drohkaal,” “Taal,” “Phir Milenge,” “Trishna,” “Youngistaan,” and “Rahasya.”
Mita made her television debut in 1989 with the TV series, “Space City Sigma.” Next, he appeared in TV series like “Bharat Ek Khoj,” “Pachpan Khambe Lal Deewarein,” “Swabhimaan,” “Hip Hip Hurray” and “Star Bestseller”.
She gained popularity by playing the role of ‘Trishna’ in the Star Plus TV series, “Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki.”
After that, she appeared in TV series like “Suvreen Guggal – Topper of The Year,” “Kaala Teeka,” “Koi Laut Ke Aaya Hai” and “Criminal Justice.”
Vashisht made his Tamil film debut with the film “Snegithiye,” Bengali film debut with the film, “Patalghar,” Marathi film debut with the film, “Shevri,” and Malayalam film debut with the film, “Raakilipattu.”
In 2000, Mita appeared in the music video, “Mann ke Manjeeré.” Besides acting, Mita has written and directed three short films and a TV series.
Vashisht has also sung the vocals of the song, “Laaga Chunari Mein Daag” for Yash Raj Films.
In 2020, Mita made her digital debut with the web series, “Yang Berhormat.”
Controversy
Mita Vashisht was once invited on the debate show, “News Hour” on Times Now channel by news anchor, Arnab Goswami. He appeared on the show to speak against the banning of Pakistani artists in India. Col. VN Thapar also appeared on the debate show to speak in support of the ban. During the show, Mita yells “Oh Shut up,” pulls out the ear phone, and walks off camera. After Mita leaves the show, Arnab says that Vashisht has insulted the father of a Kargil War martyr by saying shut up to him. However, Mita clarified through a social media post that she was shouting at Goswami and not at VN Thapar.
