During his recent performance at the Fonda Theater in Los Angeles, Mod Sun expressed his gratitude to his fans, sharing that they “saved” his life following his breakup with ex-fiancée Avril Lavigne.
The “Karma” singer, 36, and the “Girlfriend” singer, 38, were engaged in March 2022, but their relationship came to a head when they broke up last February.
“Ya’ll f**king saved my life for the last six weeks,” Mod Sun shared on stage, per TMZ.
“If any of you are struggling right now, whether it’s heartbreak, depression, addiction, anxiety, or maybe you just have a negative voice in your head right now, I want you to know that one. thing I’ve learned in the last almost four years: don’t be afraid to ask for help,” he added.
Mod Sun ended his speech by saying thank you before stating that it was time for a “new chapter” for him.

In a February interview with E! news, Mod Sun revealed his desire to give Lavigne “the wedding of her dreams”, adding that she is a princess and deserves the best.
Mod Sun, at the time, said that he was looking forward to marrying the singer with “sanctuary” but noted that “it’s wonderful to let the engagement last, so we’re still living in the moment.”
He shared that when it’s time for them to walk down the aisle, he’ll be instrumental in the planning phase because he and Avril are “very similar in the way we like to organize things.”
“She’s a princess, she is,” he told the news channel. “She is a princess. That’s really shit so we’re going to have a very special wedding. I can’t wait for that time to come.”

The “Internet Killed the Rockstar” creator previously shared that his estranged fiance saved his life because he was a positive influence on him. He mentioned that Lavigne was responsible for many changes in his life during that time.
“I have found such a partner in this world to go through the chaos that life throws at you,” he said E! News. “I have found the person. I’m with a grown woman who’s been through it ten times over, and she’s made me a better person.”
He said he was “cool with maturity” and added that Lavigne helped him realize he wasn’t a “childish, messy person”, explaining how her influence had changed his perspective.
Mod Sun also recounted how Lavigne saved her life, calling her “protection,” noting that she kept her from “self-destructive ideas” and removed the button she used to “self-sabotage.”
