Mohammed Amer, also known as Mo Amer, is a stand-up comedian from the United States. He is best known for his Netflix comedy special Mo Amer: The Vagabond and for being one third of the comedy trio Allah Made Me Funny. He also starred in the Hulu sitcom “Ramy” for two seasons, alongside comedian Ramy Youssef.

Mohammed Amer Zaman, Biography
Mohammed Amer was born on July 24, 1981, in Kuwait as Mohammed “Mo” Mustafa Amer. His nationality is Kuwaiti-American, and he is of Palestinian descent, so his ethnicity is Mixed. He is the youngest of six siblings. As a result, he has five siblings. His father worked for the Kuwait Oil Company as an engineer. Amer, his sister Haifa, his brother, and his mother fled Kuwait during the Gulf War in October 1990, when he was nine years old. They immigrated to America and settled in Houston, Texas. His father, a telecommunications engineer, joined them in the United States in 1992.
Amer attends Piney Point Elementary School while his brothers study abroad. His father died in 1995 when he was 14 years old. Omar, one of his brothers, was a pilot, and Amer (who later changed his surname to Najjar) had a Ph.D. in biochemistry. As of 2024, he will be 42 years old.
He became a US citizen in 2009, allowing him to travel to Palestine and see family he hadn’t seen in nearly 20 years. He also visited Kuwait and Baghdad for the first time since fleeing with his family.
