Mohammed started his professional career with the Kumasi side Barcelona Babies FC and later joined the African Talent Football Academy in the southern Ghanaian town of Nsawam. Following that, in October 2017, he joined Real Valladolid’s youth system. In 2019, he made his professional debut with Valladolid’s senior team. He made 34 appearances for Valladolid before joining Southampton on 12 August 2020. He agreed terms with Southampton on a four-year professional deal for £10.9 million. On 21 September 2021, he scored his first goal in the EFL Cup against Sheffield United.
