A 35-year-old Colorado mother is furious after she was accused of killing her two young children and attempting to kill a third, who was injured in the shocking attack, authorities said.
Colorado Springs police responded to a report of a burglary at Kimberlee Singler’s Palomino Ranch Point home around 12:30 a.m. Dec. 19, KDVR reported.
When police arrived, they found Singler and her 11-year-old daughter, both injured, police said. They also made the gruesome discovery of the bodies of his 9-year-old daughter and 7-year-old son.
Singler and her daughter were treated at the scene and then taken to a local hospital. Details of how the child was killed were not immediately released.
The mother was allowed to leave the hospital because she was considered a victim and authorities did not have probable cause to arrest her, Denver 7 reported.

But “when the investigation of this case was conducted, it was determined that the initial report of theft was unfounded,” police told USA Today.
“At this time Ms. Singler is the prime suspect,” police added.
On Tuesday, homicide investigators obtained an arrest warrant for Singler, who was last seen Saturday when he was staying at his relative’s home, according to the outlet, which cited police.
His current whereabouts are unknown, officials said.
The police department’s Violent Fugitive Task Force is searching for the fugitive in an “active investigation.”
Bachelor faces numerous charges, including four counts of first-degree murder, two counts of attempted first-degree murder, two counts of child abuse and first-degree assault.
A neighbor expressed his shock about the murder.
“Very surprising. This has always been a quiet neighborhood. Nothing happened here. We all really know each other,” Daniel Lane told KDVR.
“Kids play here all the time. There was only a snowman there that they built a week ago. It finally just melted,” he said.
“The truth is he is still exposed, do I need a security door in my house? What is happening? Where did he go?” Lane added.
Singler’s bond was set at $10 million.
Police said the 11-year-old was being cared for.
