A mother-to-be is on her way home for Christmas with big news, but she and her unborn baby die in a car accident that leaves her husband in critical condition.
Chloe Stott, 24, and her husband, Parker, from Utah, were heading to Arizona on vacation to share the happy news with their family on Wednesday.
“They just found out they are having a baby and are so excited to be parents and share the news with their loved ones at Christmas,” wrote friend Jake Toolson on GoFundMe.
The couple was traveling down Highway 93 in Wickenburg, Ariz., near Phoenix, around 8:15 p.m. when they collided with a white Volvo commercial truck after failing to fully pass another car in their lane, according to KSL-TV.
Stott and her unborn baby died on impact, local outlets reported. Parker was airlifted to the Arizona Burn Center, where he is “under intensive care to save his life,” according to GoFundMe.
The route was closed for six hours following the crash, KSL-TV said.
