During Wednesday’s episode of the “Club Shay Shay” podcast, Mo’Nique sat down for a heart-to-heart interview with Shannon Sharpe and opened up about her grievances in the entertainment industry.

As noted, he talked about his time on the 2016 film “Almost Christmas,” sharing how the production was fraught with danger thanks to a famous Hollywood figure. He implied producer Will Packer was careless about set safety, cutting corners and ignoring warning signs.

He claims he turned a blind eye to complaints about actors smelling gas near some of their trailers, where they dress. Despite being informed of the problem, Packer took no action until the unfortunate explosion occurred.

Mo’Nique Reunites With Netflix After Lawsuit Settlement

Two years before her latest revelation about the entertainment industry, Mo’Nique officially returned to Netflix following the settlement of a discrimination lawsuit. She sued the streaming platform for being gender and racially biased in 2019, claiming she was offered a “lowball” offer for a comedy show.

After privately settling the matter outside of the courtroom, it appears the 56-year-old no longer holds a grudge against Netflix. He appeared in a 2022 video on the platform’s X account, promoting their reunion on a new project.

Mo’Nique revealed she will be filming her first comedy special with the streaming giant, claiming she is finally coming home. The project marks his first major gig in years and a reunion with director Lee Daniels.

“I also reunited with my friend, my brother, Director Mr. Lee Daniels, in the Netflix movie The Deliverance,” the entertainer said, “You won’t want to miss one of them. So you guys keep watching, and thank you all, love me.”

Mo’Nique and Daniels previously worked together in the 2009 hit film “Precious,” which earned the actress an Academy Award for her role as Mary Lee Johnston.
