‘Morning Joe’ delayed nearly 15 minutes as MSNBC faces technical nightmare, bizarrely playing Lawrence O’Donnell rerun

It’s not appropriate for “Morning Joe.”

MSNBC faced a technical nightmare early Tuesday that left viewers more confused than usual while waiting nearly 15 minutes for its flagship breakfast show, “Morning Joe.”

Those watching at 6 a.m. were greeted with a shot of the Capitol building along with an extended play of The Who’s “Teenage Wasteland.”

Viewers are then treated to a series of internal promotions and ads that play confusingly until around 6:07am

Then, instead of breaking news, the station started playing a rerun of “Last Word with Lawrence O’Donnell” without any message explaining that it was a rerun.

Finally, Mika Brzezinski started “Morning Joe” at 6:12 a.m. — without any real explanation for the long delay.

“Well, thanks for being patient with us, everybody … started a little late this morning,” Brzezinski said.

“Stay with us @MSNBC, we hope to be live soon,” Lemire wrote before 6 am. and the delayed start of “Morning Joe.”

“Thank you for your patience,” he wrote.

MSNBC declined to comment when contacted by The Post early Tuesday.
