New York Democratic Representative Dan Goldman – heir to the Levi Strauss & Co. fortune. and one of the wealthiest members of Congress – was sued for skipping four months of rent on his posh Tribeca pad, new court papers show.
Goldman, 47, and his wife, Corinne Goldman, were named in a two-page lawsuit filed in Manhattan Supreme Court on Monday by landlords Jason and Natasha Gilbert, who allege the cop and his partner owe $180,000 in rent on the 3,818-square-foot. luxury condo.
The congressman — whose personal net worth has been pegged at over $253 million — allegedly has not paid the $45,000-a-month rent on the apartment at 60 Collister Street since August, according to the filing.
This is while he has a lease for the unit that runs through July 31, 2024, court papers state.
The Gilberts, who own the apartment, also want Goldman to shell out $360,000 to cover the remaining months of the broken lease, according to Crain’s New York.
The pad — which has five bedrooms and as many bathrooms — is currently on sale for $14 million and is described as a “newly renovated turn-key penthouse,” according to the StreetEasy listing.
The corner penthouse has an additional 1,500 square feet of outdoor space with a wraparound terrace that runs the length of the penthouse, according to the listing.
